En 1987 Bruce Springsteen publicó Tunnel of Love, un disco que resultó ser una colección de canciones sobre el amor, en la que Bruce veía este amor desde el punto de vista de los enamorados, pero también desde la perspectiva de la muerte de estos sentimientos, de la complejidad que va adquiriendo día a día la vida en pareja.
